The Somerset Series of paintings were created from plein air drawings and color notations made at the Hauser and Wirth Gallery in Somerset, England, where I was the artist and educator in residence. I returned a number of times to Somerset to experience the gardens at the gallery and the surrounding Somerset countryside in different seasons. Like the Forests of Antarctica series, the Somerset images are responses to touch, smell and sound as well as sight. Five of these works are in the Williams College Museum of Art collection and installed permanently in the  Wachenheim Science Center on the Williams campus.
